Lillian C. Gaither is an associate attorney at Gubler & Abbott.  Lillian was born in Northern California but grew up in Hawaii.  She still considers herself an “island girl” at heart.  After graduating from the idyllic Seabury Hall College Preparatory Academy in Makawao, Maui, she returned to California and settled in the Central Valley in 1993, the home of her extended family.  She also spent several years in Phoenix, Arizona while attending college and law school.

Lillian began her legal career with an ABA Accredited A.S. in Paralegal Studies, with Honors, in 2004 from College of the Sequoias, in Visalia, California. While attending COS, she served as a Board Member for the Sequoia Paralegal Association, and a representative to the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations.  She worked as a Trust Administration and Probate Paralegal for three years before returning to school to continue her education.

In 2008, Lillian graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice.  At ASU, she maintained Dean’s List grades, and was a member of both the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society and the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.  She served as a research assistant on a project involving the “Civil Commitment of Sexually Violent Predators.”

After completing her undergraduate degree, Lillian attended Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, at Arizona State University, and received her Juris Doctor degree in May of 2011.  She was a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar, and the ASU Chapter Secretary of the ABA Law Student Division.  She was also involved in the Consumer Advocacy and Protection Program’s pilot program, “The Justice Bus,” which took pro bono legal services to underserved rural areas of Arizona, providing consumer protection advice particularly during the housing crash of 2008.  Lillian also volunteered with Wills for Heroes, providing first responders and military with pro bono estate planning documents.  She was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International (Hugo Black Chapter), and the Christian Legal Society.

Lillian has practiced law since December 2011, in various areas.  She has a wide variety of experience, including trusts and estate planning, probate and trust administration, labor and employment, family law, civil litigation, real estate law, eminent domain and condemnation defense, special education, consumer protection, and her personal favorite, independent adoption.  Lillian is an expert legal researcher and writer and has a keen interest in techniques for dispute resolution.

A lifelong fan of the arts, Lillian has taught dance classes for children, teens, and adults for many years. She also hopes to begin writing her novel soon.  Lillian enjoys spending time with her adult daughter, son-in-law, and infant grandson, and seizes any opportunity to visit the California coast.

Lillian's personal creed is "Live with Intention!"
