Ms. Alcazar is an associate attorney at the law firm of Gubler and Abbott.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Humboldt State University with a major in Psychology where she was a Presidential Scholar.  She then earned her Master’s degree from Humboldt State University in Academic Research in Social Psychology. There she was a Presidential Scholar and received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for the work on her thesis, Court Appointed Special Advocates: Differences between those who will continue after their first case and those who will quit. While completing her undergraduate and graduate education she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

She then earned a Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where she graduated with distinction.  She also studied abroad at Oxford University, and worked as a law clerk at Disability Rights Ohio, the Office of the Ohio Attorney General, and Student Legal Services. While completing her law degree, she volunteered as a member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistants. She also served as an officer of the Pro Bono Research Group, the Law School Democrats, and the Mortiz Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. Due to her extensive pro bono work, she was designated as a Public Service Fellow with Recognition.

Before completing her education, Ms. Alcazar served in the U.S. Army as a paralegal in the Office of Military Justice at Fort Bliss, Texas.  There she was involved in each phase of the criminal litigation process including victim and witness assistance.
